That's right! This is actually where I live. Not a whole lot to say about it, except I have lived here a long time and I love living in this house! I guess, that well may be enough! No stalkers now! Thanks!

The Haw River Canoe Access Site

One of the places I have taken pictures in the past has been at the Haw River. Specifically, the canoe access point where it flows under Hwy 64 in Chatham County. I brought my Leica M8 with the 28mm Elmarit with my Nikon N90. These Images were made with the Leica. I like how it makes me work more slowly and to think a little more about my composition. I brought the Nikon in case there were Kayakers and I needed a longer zoom or the motor drive to catch the action. As there was nobody else around (thought there were several cars there) I shot with the Leica on the way out. I had not been here in a while, and the undergrowth was thicker and the water level lower because ti was summer, but I think I got some nice images in any event.
Let me know what you think!

Mordecai Village

Saturday, after going to SE Camera, I went to the nearby Mordecai Village to take some pictures. I have taken pictures here before and was surprised to see it on Ghost Hunters. I didn't see any ghosts that day, but I double checked my images for faces in the windows!

NC State University Turfgrass Research Field Lab

NC State University Turfgrass Research Field Lab? I know... what a random spot to go taking pictures, but I pass it on the way to and from Lake Wheeler and around sunrise and sunset it is gorgeous. I have hesitated to stop in the past as the vista I want is on Lake Wheeler Road which can be quite busy. Monday, I was driving home around sunset and decided "today is the day!" I used the wide angles for this, the Voigtlander 15mm Super Wide Heliar and the Leica 28mm Elmarit. I expect more from this set to be posted later, but here's a taste!

Lake Wheeler for Vivek (Part 5)
Turns out, you really aren't supposed to be on the dam! Oops! The gentlemen that patrol the lake were nice about it, and I didn't see the sign until I was driving away, but I still felt kinda bad for being where I wasn't supposed to be walking around. I guess if I go back for another session, I will contact the City of Raleigh first and see how I can get permission first. Oh well, live and learn!

Lake Wheeler for Vivek (Part 4)
I decided to revisit Lake Wheeler Sunday morning, as it was an overcast morning with a dramatic sky. I saw a service road that put me on the other side of the dam and allowed me a view of the boathouse from the lake side. I figured my friend would like the view, so here it is, Bro!
Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Lake Crabtree Boat Docks
Lake Crabtree
Having the day off yesterday to see my doctor (don't fret, a scheduled visit), I went by Lake Crabtree afterwards and took some pictures. it's a nice little park with paddle boats and a couple of fields that people play Frisbee on or fly kit. There are trails you can mountain bike on (bring your helmet) or just take a stroll. It is beautifully landscaped and a pleasure to visit. You might want to check it out this weekend!
