Sirkeci

After lunch we went to Sirkeci so I could look for camera gear and film and candies to bring for Dan and his family back home. We walked by a mosques where people were washing their feet in preparation for the evening prayers. Then we passed some of the street shops in the area and walked to the camera stores. It was very cool to go used film camera shopping in Istanbul... if you like used film camera shopping I guess!

 You can see the man washing his feet outside before entering the mosque. It is a very devout thing to do on a very cold day; in the heat of summer it would be a relief, but that day it was more like an offering of supplication!

 It was one of my goals to get a good picture of one of these hand carts. I think they are really cool!
