Monday's game was an excellent contest. Both teams were very evenly matched and had goaltenders who put in great performances with spectacular saves. The teams also showed great sportsmanship and a love of the game of soccer. The only thing that marred it was the sudden injury of one of the players. She hurt her knee making a play on the ball, but more heartbreaking was her anguish about how the injury would affect her life and plans. I mostly stopped taking pictures at that point to offer what encouragement and support I could. Sometimes it's more important to be a good human being then a good photographer!
